Zistos Corporation has a Video Search System designed for passenger and commercial vehicles that can be applied anywhere and is more effective at seeing suspicious indicators than can be accomplished with the naked eye or with using rolling mirrors. Mirrors may work to some degree as a deterrent, but are largely ineffective in actually seeing any details.
In many instances, these indicators can be very subtle and would easily be missed using other methods. The system is portable, rapidly deployable, weather resistant, and easy to operate. It lets you see the subtle signs of tampering and other suspicious indicators on commercial and passenger vehicles that are often associated with acts of terrorism, and smuggling.

One of the many unique options for the Zistos Pole Camera System is our zoom camera.
We offer two models: WPC-2.5Z – a color zoom, white light illuminated camera and the WPC-2.5ZIR, a color/BW, low light camera with infrared illumination. Both of these cameras feature a true optical 10X zoom capability.
Unlike many cameras on the market that offer digital zoom capability, the Zistos optical zoom does not lose resolution as the magnification increases. Digital zoom functions lose resolution and image quality as you increase the magnification. Both of the zoom cameras are submersible in water.
Please watch the accompanying video to learn more about this unique camera system from Zistos and how it can assist many types of video inspection/surveillance applications including Industrial, Law Enforcement, Rescue, and Security.

The common requirement for all of our customers is to see into areas that are dangerous or difficult to access. The variety of different pole types and sizes are designed to optimize the range and application of our pole camera systems. With articulating pole options from 3ft to 20ft, FlexEnd pole options from 2ft to 20ft, and Carbon Fiber FlexEnd options at 20ft, 30ft or 40ft you will be able to visually assess conditions in areas that would otherwise be difficult or hazardous.
Being that all of our Zistos camera heads and Zistos WalkAbout displays are compatible with any pole you may choose the combination of pole type, display and camera technology that best fits your application.
Our systems are used by tactical teams, rescue personnel, security personnel and industrial inspectors in many different scenarios. They can allow an operator to “see” high above or below ground – without a ladder; to covertly survey a situation in a second story window or up in an attic without putting themselves at risk; to inspect conditions inside a vault or tank without entering a confined space and search for trapped victims following a building collapse. The various pole types used in conjunction with our other video components give you the flexibility to safely extend your vision and allow you to put your eyes anywhere they need to see.

Zistos is proud to introduce our new line of pole camera systems that include long poles that telescope out to 20’, 30’, and 40’. These new “Extended Reach” poles are made from carbon fiber, a material that is stronger, lighter, and more rigid than standard aluminum and fiberglass poles. The carbon fiber material offers better control and the enhanced rigidity minimizes bowing, especially when the pole is used in a horizontal orientation. A new lever locking collar mechanism used on our carbon fiber poles allows the user to quickly lock/release the telescoping sections of the pole. While some competing pole designs use only friction to keep the sections extended, our locking collars secure each section for use in a vertical position. The poles are fully compatible with our existing line of interchangeable cameras heads and body worn/portable display devices.
If you are relying on mirrors to inspect vehicles, you are putting your personnel and your mission at risk.
Mirrors provide only reflected images and only from a distance. The signs associated with tampering are often so subtle that they can be easily missed, unless you have a close-up view – a view that Zistos Vehicle Search Systems provide.
With our security needs increasing, especially in remote places, Zistos Corporation can help you with the right application for your remote surveillance equipment needs. Our rapidly deployable surveillance systems are self-powered and offer complete vision solutions that are wireless and easily transported.
Our newest system, The Backpack Surveillance Tower (BST) is a portable, one man battery operated, wireless network surveillance system with a pan-tilt-zoom camera that is mounted on a collapsible four-meter mast. The system facilitates surveillance of a wide area from a high angle of view. The BST deploys quickly from a backpack, which allows one individual to transport it over rough or wooded terrain. The 13 ft. tower unfolds easily from storage and can be setup by a single individual. The pole is stabilized using guy-wires and ground spikes included in the kit. Multiple BST systems can be networked together and can be monitored from a ruggedized laptop computer available with the kit and can also interface with any standard digital device – laptop, tablet, or smartphone – with Wi-Fi capability. Zistos Corporation, a leader in the manufacture of video based vehicle search tools that are designed “to see where your eyes can’t go”, is now working with Desert Snow, the leader in vehicle search training techniques.
Zistos Corporation’s professional quality vehicle inspection tools will now be used in classroom and hands-on training by Desert Snow’s equally professional staff.
These days you have to be wary. Even routine public matters can involve elevated security risks; they can take on any form, especially vehicles, currently the weapon of choice for the bad guys.
The result is a rapid increase in the sheer volume of preemptive searches of vehicles being conducted that in turn raises the associated risk factor for inspectors.
Inspecting a vehicle for explosives like IEDs is dangerous business to say the least. The multiple locations where a device can be hidden extend to the entire vehicle, from the undercarriage to the trunk, engine, cargo area and top of the vehicle as with a truck.
Then there’s the cabin and passenger area, dashboard, seats, cargo area and more. Each challenge requires a different tool to properly assess the risk while protecting the inspector. Continue reading →
The risk of relying on equipment made for best-case scenarios…
This Zistos design philosophy stems from over a decade’s experience and the many lessons learned by our engineers and end users in building portable video inspection systems. As a result, instead of designing for a best-case scenario, Zistos equipment has always been designed to operate in a worst case scenario. In other words we do our best to ensure that, when you really need it, it will work as intended.
Zistos applications include physical security, tactical law enforcement, urban search and rescue, military and industrial inspection. This means rugged and dependable under any conditions. While they may not have the flashy look of some consumer-grade products, our design build, flexibility and reliability make the critical difference when the equipment used must perform in the field.
The Zistos design approach to building its equipment is based on key factors and problem avoidance:
Wireless vs. wired. Many of the wireless video systems on the market utilize analog video transmitters and receivers that are similar in design and performance to inexpensive consumer electronic systems wrapped around high tech looking enclosures. Many of these wireless solutions are of poor quality, easily detected and can be easily intercepted. They are also prone to a multitude of operational problems based on environment. There are many consumer products/technologies that can detect and intercept wireless video transmission. There are even applications for smart phones that can threaten wireless video security. Video signals can easily be detected, acquired, viewed and recorded by outside parties, media and even adversaries. Although we offer wireless as an option, the built-in wired configuration employed by Zistos avoids all of these risks.
